Selene Charles mixes magic and humor in this short novel. I loved the exchanges between Chance and Bronwyn that were full of sass. This is one couple that will definitely bring a smile to your face. The author also includes enough information on the brothers that will have readers eagerly waiting for the other two books in the series to see what happens to the two older brothers on their mating journeys. The story was entertaining and also pulled at the heartstrings. I recommend this book to anyone that likes paranormal shifter romances as an excellent read.

This isn't my first read from this author and it isn't going to be the last!!
Although different from any of the books I've read from her so far it is nonetheless a great read.
Personally I'm not too fond of the Alfa male shifter genre this one captivated me the instant I started it.
This fast paced love story speaks of finding love where you least expect it. With the person you least expect it with also.
After a mating ritual with his two brothers Chance finds the urge to go out and female hunt to mate. He finds Bron and instantly wants her for himself.
She answered his mating call. After the best sex if their lives she goes back to her home only to find that she is being punished by her mother and gets her wings clipped.
Little does her mother know that she's mated to the grizzly and is expecting his child.
Does she run away and give up her family or does she stay and have the baby alone?
I'll let you figure that out!!
The story is as I said earlier fast paced and because it is fast paced it is predictable but it does not make this book any less fun!! Hot sex is on the menu for these two!!
Definitely pick this book up!! You won't regret it!
When grizzly shifters mate it is an explosive thing. And I got carried away by this story, sucked in, breathlessly reading until the very end. Rowana (Bronwyn) is very cool, I liked her right from the start and felt for her so deeply. While Chance is an alpha bear who needs a bit cutting down, I was delighted to see her do it (and very sure she'll continue to as she bows down to noone!). The background story was intriguing, I especially liked the "hot/cold" idea (you see when you read it, I don't want to spoiler) and can't wait to read more of this world.
The author says on her FB page that this is part of a big project, where some other authors write stories in the same world, revolving around the "mating fever" concept, some about bears like this one but there's dragons too, so I'll definitely look into this some more. Pre-ordered the next two from Selene Charles right away, I want to know what Chance's brothers are like!
What would you do if you were talked into participating in an ancient mating ritual - against better judgment - only to have nothing go as planned? Sadly, this is Chance Hawthorne's current situation, and he's not happy about it. Of COURSE he couldn't have mated with another bear - oh no - he had to mate with the most beautiful crow he had ever seen. And crows don't mate for life like bears do. That would be too easy. So what's a bear to do when his mate flies off? Win her back, that's what. And he will do whatever he has to.
Bronwyn Crow did something she shouldn't have. She mated with the bear shifter that she's been watching for weeks, and now he wants her back. If she had her way, she would return in a heartbeat - but the way of her clan forbids it. There's only one way to be able to get back to her bear before he tears apart the forest looking for her, but it will cost her everything.
I'll admit... usually I don't read a lot of shifter romance, but this was a little nugget of awesomeness. Even though it was only 70 pages or so, it had everything that I look for in a story. The characters were fully fleshed out, and you BELIEVED what they were feeling. The setting was vivid enough to be able to picture it in my head, without making me feel bogged down with details. The sexytimes were scorching hot, and yet the plotline is what had me hooked.
In other words, you are going to want to sink your teeth into this little novella, I promise.

This was a pretty fun read! I liked Bron and her carefree attitude, as well as Chance's... bearish... character throughout the book. The whole time I read this, it felt like a near comedy with the way their monologues went, constantly laying down joke after joke with somewhat witty sarcasm. The details in terms of comparisons were a little much at one point because it felt like it was there every line. For that, I'd say the flow was a little uneven, but it got better in the end.
It was a good short story to read, totally hot and funny and I absolutely loved the way the couple embodied their animalistic counterparts. Very cool. And ooo, I liked the world set up. Makes me want to read the next book. Definite recommend.
The plot was good, but the entire storyline happens in almost one day, very little build up and too short of a book for the price.
Will not be buying more.
Chance and Bronwyn story was fun to read. A crow throwing a pebble and hitting someone in the head was hilarious. Can't wait for the next installment of this series.
